Review of Soundcore V20i by an average user runner.

I really enjoyed these earphones.
Out of the box you have the earphones, case, usual forbiddingly short USB C cable and a handshake straight from Soundcore.
Let me remind you right now that these are OPEN-EAR earphones! So, don't be silly dropping comments about the fact they are not noise cancelling! Because, being able to listen to your surroundings is the main purpose of these earphones! With this being said, I simply love to have music hovering above my life while I'm doing things. It is like in the movies, when there is the protagonist doing something with an epic music playing in the background. This is how they feel like.
They are comfortable, lightweight, but you would never forget you are wearing them.
They have a hook shape with 4 adjustable positions, which makes them really comfy to wear, maintaining the position you put them on. They have a good grip on the ears and they barely wobble. Really comfortable to wear for running.
They are water resistant, meaning you absolutely can’t soak them in water but they can get wet. So, you can regularly clean them up if they get sweaty or dirty. Surely, being open-ear means you won’t have issues with earwax shenanigans.
As for any earphones' microphone, you can use it for calls as long as the environment you are in is not too loud or too windy, delivering an average sound quality. Don't rely on this to record your podcast or for the karaoke night.
Yes, unfortunately with OPEN-EAR earphones you have to trade off sound quality for what is a different experience. Yet, I actually didn't mind the sound as an average user runner, even though, especially coming from IN-EAR earphones, you can notice the difference, particularly outdoors. So, let me first say that indoors I had no issues whatsoever with sound and volume, unless, as you can imagine, there is a hoover moving around which would require you to put the volume up quite a bit. Outdoors, the volume is more than enough and the sound is enjoyable to be able to listen to music and podcasts. However, bear in mind that in situations of constant noise, as it could be a train or an aeroplane, although the volume would be still enough for music, I'm not sure it would be actually enough to listen to podcasts or videos.
They also have fancy led lights you can customise as you wish through the app. A funny touch which could actually be useful while having a run or a walk in the darkness, to make everyone aware of your position.
Battery life is just extreme. If stranded on a desert island, you would still be able to die before you drain the battery out. Dying in style, listening to your favourite songs. Such an epic death!
The case is lightweight and not noticeable when in the pockets.

Like them a lot - open ear is the way to go! I do have a few suggestions for improvement though...

This is my third set of open ear headphones. The first two were from a different company and convinced me of the open ear design, but were too bulky, especially the charging case was very large. Anyway, let's focus on the v20i. As you can see, you can change the angle of the earpiece relative to the ear hook. Personally I think this is just a way to fit them in a smaller case, and I simply 'open' and 'close' them each time I get them out or put them back. Connection is simple and follows the normal bluetooth process. The connect/disconnect sounds a soothing and discrete. The audio quality is very good. Of course, you are not going to get massive bass with open ear buds, but there is definitely sufficient for me. On android there is already an equaliser app, so I use that to choose my preferred profile. So, what are the areas of improvement: 1. The blue LEDs are extremely bright and if I disconnect I can see them flashing in my spectacles! 2. the case is fiddly to open because it's like a pebble and you need to get your nails inside the box (I already dropped it in the street). 3. you have to create an account just to use the huge soundcore app so you can configure the touch controls; ridiculous! So, Anker, please ditch the silly, huge LEDs and provide a tiny plug in to configure the earbuds please.
