FAQ

Wearing Related

What should I do if my Sleep A20 earbuds have an unstable fit?

We suggest trying the following: - Make sure you are wearing the ear tips and ear wings correctly. - Choose the ear tips and ear wings that fit your ears the best. We recommend that you start with size M ear tips and ear wings. - Insert the earbud into your ear and find a suitable position for the best fit. If the earbuds are too deep in your ears, it may affect the Bluetooth connection. If you experience connection issues, we recommend that you replace the ear tips and wings with larger ones. - When using them in bed, try a different pillow. - Use soft pillows. Pillows that are too hard may exert more pressure on your ears if you sleep on your side, which can affect the connection to your phone. - Do not use water pillows or pillows with metal or magnetic components.

What should I do if I feel uncomfortable, feel strong ear pressure, or experience itchy ear canals when wearing Sleep A20 for a long time?

1. Replace the ear tips with other sizes, and see if it improves the feeling of pressure in the ear. 2. If you feel stuffy or too sealed, you can replace the breathable ear tips. But please note that this will affect the noise masking effect. 3. When using them in bed, try a different pillow. Pillows that are too hard may exert more pressure on your ears if you sleep on your side, which can affect the connection to your phone. 4. Do not use water pillows or pillows with metal or magnetic components.

What should I do if I sleep on my side and feel pressure in my ear?

1. Check whether it is worn correctly 2. If you feel stuffy or too sealed, you can replace the breathable ear tips. 3. Try different ear tips or softer pillows.

I hear a noise when my pillow rubs against my earbuds. What should I do?

The rubbing sound is due to the material of your pillowcase. Please check whether you are wearing the earbuds correctly, and try using cotton or silk pillowcases. (Suggestion: Some pillows are made of a smooth material, which easily comes into contact with the headset to produce friction sounds, you can adjust the wearing angle of the earbuds, or add a pillowcase to the pillow.)
Operation Related

How do I turn my earbuds on and off?

1. The first time you open the charging case you need to remove the insulation under the earbuds before putting the earbuds into the charging case. You must open and close the charging case once before you can turn on the earbuds. 2. After opening the charging case, the earbuds will automatically turn on. They turn off when you place them in the charging case and close it. You cannot turn the earbuds on and off manually without the charging case.

What should I do if there's no response when I double tap?

The Sleep A20 earbuds do not have touch controls, so you may have to use a bit of force when pressing the button.

What should I do if the double tap gets triggered without me pressing it?

1. When the earbuds' G-sensor vibrates, it may recognize it as a double tap, resulting in a false trigger. To avoid this issue try to avoid dropping or throwing the earbuds. 2. False triggering is possible when adjusting the position of the earbuds while wearing them. 3. There is a certain probability that a double or triple tap will be triggered when placing one earbud into the charging case, resulting in mode switching or volume change, which is not a malfunction, but rather the earbuds triggering a tap by mistake when placed in the case. This is a common issue with the sensor.

How do I reset my Sleep A20 earbuds?

Place the earbuds in the charging case and leave the case open. Press and hold the button on the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators on the case flash 3 times. This confirms that the reset was successful.

What should I do if Sleep A20 earbuds can't pair with the soundcore app?

1. Pair the earbuds with your phone. Currently, the soundcore app is not available for computers or tablets. 2. Open the soundcore app, choose Add Device > Headphones, Speakers, and Frames, to find your device. 3. If you cannot find Sleep A20 in the list, please choose Set up Manually > Sleep > Sleep A20. 4. If you cannot find Sleep A20 in the list, please update the app to the latest version. Alternatively, you can uninstall then reinstall the soundcore app. If the problem still persists, please contact us and let us know which version of the soundcore app and phone model you're using so we can further assist you.

How do I switch between Bluetooth mode and Sleep mode?

1. Firmly tap the left earbud twice. 2. Switch via the soundcore app. 3. After turning on the Smart Switch, the earbuds will automatically switch to Sleep mode when the earbuds detect that the user is asleep, and switching to Sleep mode will play built-in sleep sounds by default.

How do I adjust the volume in Sleep mode?

1. Adjust the volume bar manually in the soundcore app. You can only adjust the volume in the soundcore app. 2. You can adjust by tapping on the earbuds (when using two earbuds together, the default is three taps on the left earbud to decrease volume, and three taps on the right earbud to increase volume, users can customize the Tap function in the soundcore app)

How does Smart Switch work?

When the earbuds detect that the user is asleep, they will automatically pause sound played via Bluetooth, switch from Bluetooth mode to Sleep Mode, and automatically play sleep sounds. If you want to listen to Bluetooth music again, firmly tap the left earbud twice or change mode via the soundcore app to switch back to Bluetooth mode. Double-tap the right earbud to play Bluetooth music again.

What should I do if I notice the following issues? 1. When using them in Bluetooth mode, the earbuds unexpectedly switch to Sleep mode and play sleep sounds. 2. When using them in Sleep mode, the earbuds prompt me to switch to Bluetooth mode and pause the sleep sounds.

The G-sensor of the earbuds may be recognized as a double-tap by the vibration, which may lead to a false tap, and it will be misrecognized as a double-tap on the left earbud to switch the playback mode with low probability, so you can double-tap on the left earbud to switch back to the mode you need to use, or you can set the double-tap as no function trigger.
Charging Related

What should I do if any of the following problems occur? 1. The earbuds don’t recharge in the charging case. 2. The earbuds stay connected to the device even after being placed in the charging case with the lid closed. 3. The earbuds don't turn on when taken out of the charging case.

1. Confirm the charging case has power left (open the charging case to check if there is a flashing light). 2. Clean the charging pins with a dry cloth and rubbing alcohol. This is to ensure all charging contact pins on the earbuds and charging case are completely clean and dry from sweat and water. Then put the earbuds correctly into the case. 3. Use the certified charging cable and wall charger. 4. Check whether the ear tips and ear wings are installed properly. And make sure the ear tips and ear wings do not cover the charging contacts. 5. Make sure the earbuds are put in the charging case correctly. The charging contact part needs to be aligned.

What should I do if my Sleep A20 earbuds have a short battery life?

- Standard playtime in Bluetooth mode is 8-10 hours at 50% volume. - Standard playtime in Sleep mode is 14 hours at 50% volume. Note: - Setting an alarm will take up 20% more battery so the playtime will be reduced to 80%. - The battery life of electronic products will be shortened with the increase of usage time. The battery life of the earbuds shortens over time due to factors such as battery aging, excessive charging times, ambient temperature, and frequency of use. These factors can lead to a gradual reduction in battery life, affecting how long your earbuds will last. - Battery playtime in Bluetooth and Sleep mode is obtained from testing in the soundcore laboratory using the earbuds' default settings; no smart volume control (Sleep mode only), and 50% volume. The actual playtime may vary by volume, audio source, environmental interference, usage, etc. We also recommend you try the following tips: - Fully charge your earbuds. - Turn on the smart switch, and the earbuds will enter Sleep mode after detecting the user has fallen asleep, which can prolong battery life. - Try to close the soundcore app in the background of the mobile phone to reduce power consumption. - Do not turn off the device's Bluetooth, turning off Bluetooth during sleep will cause the earbuds to be in Bluetooth search state for a certain period of time, which will consume power a little faster.

How long does a full charge take?

Earbuds: Approximately 90 minutes Charging case: Approximately 2 hours

How many times can the charging case charge the earbuds?

5 times on full charge.

Why does one earbud discharge faster than the other?

What should I do if my Sleep A20 earbuds disconnect or the sound is choppy?

1. Make sure you're wearing the earbuds correctly. 2. Try another set of ear tips and ear wings in a different size. - Please note that if the earphones are too deep in your ears, it may affect the Bluetooth signal. Try larger sizes to reduce the in-ear depth of the earbuds, which may improve the connection stability. 3. This doesn't necessarily mean there's an issue with the earbuds, so check your connected devices and surroundings. Bluetooth signals may be influenced by obstructions, such as walls, pillars, home appliances, Wi-Fi, and more. To ensure a stable connection for these earbuds, we recommend avoiding such obstructions and using the earbuds in an indoor environment. 4. Fully charge and reset your earbuds as stated below and repair them. - Place the earbuds in the charging case and leave the case open. Press and hold the button on the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators on the case flash 3 times. This confirms that the reset was successful. 5. Check the earbuds by listening to a downloaded song/video if you're using them in Bluetooth mode. 6. If you accidentally select "Cancel", you need to refresh (turn off and turn on) the Bluetooth on your device and pair the earbuds again.

The sound is quieter or there's no sound in one earbud when I sleep on my side. What should I do?

1. After sleeping on your side, one earphone may be blocked due to pillow obstruction, resulting in Bluetooth disconnection. 2. Sleeping on your side at a certain angle causes the ear tips to be offset and block the earbuds, resulting in no sound or low sound. We recommend you try the following: 1. Adjust the positioning of your head and pillow. 2. Try larger ear tips. 3. Use a Q-tip with a bit of rubbing alcohol to gently clean the metal mesh filter under the rubber ear tips.

When the earbuds are paired with my phone, the sound comes through my phone. What should I do?

Why is the sleep detection data inaccurate?

Sleep data is acquired via the earbuds according to the state of the person wearing the earbuds when asleep or awake, so as to generate sleep data in the soundcore app. Since each person is different, there may be an error in the detection.

Why is there no sleep data?

How sleep detection works: The earbuds judge whether the user has fallen asleep by their movements. If within half an hour, the user barely moves, the earbuds determine that they have fallen asleep and begins generating sleep data. If they turn over frequently or make big head movements while sleeping, it may cause the earbuds to misjudge that they are still awake, so no sleep data will be recorded. 1. The latest sleep data needs to be updated by connecting the earbuds and syncing them to the soundcore app. 2. You don't need to open the soundcore app every time you go to bed to sync data. 3. You'll need to connect your earbuds to the soundcore app on a regular weekly basis to sync your data.

Place the right earbud into the charging case. The indicator light on the right side of the charging case will light up for 3 seconds and then go out. first impression of the product.

I just received the product and haven't used it yet. The Bluetooth connection was easy to set up, and the packaging is nice. However, it would be great if the different sizes of ear tips came with small pouches for travel. It's inconvenient to carry the entire box when traveling, and without proper storage, the ear tips might get mixed up, making it hard to find the correct size when needed.

Best tool for light sleepers

I have used past headphones designed for sleep, including Soundcore’s A10s. I have always had problems with the battery life. These new A20s solve that problem completely. While in sleep mode an 8 hour plus night is always achieved.

Another plus is how easy they connected to my iPhone 15. Once connected to my Bluetooth, which took all of 10 seconds, using the app couldn’t be easier.

More reasons to love include the built in alarm that wakes you up gently and does not bother your sleeping partner. And the variety of sleep noises to choose from is vast, plus you can creat your own sounds by mixing different tones in the app to customize your sleep noise.

Earbuds fit nicely and comfortably in the ear and there is no ear pain after use. The charging system works well also and the app is very easy to use.

I highly recommend these if, like me, you are a light sleeper.

TL;DR: 10/10, comfortable for side sleeping, decent sound, good app experience

The unboxing experience was decent; it comes with a 1ft USB to type-c charging cord, a user manual, and a good selection of tips and wings. The case and earbuds were fully charged for me on arrival. The case is lightweight with a pleasant texture and makes up for its width by being reasonably thin. They fit very well and sit almost flush with my ears, leaving little pressure when lying on my side. I shook my head to test if they'd stay in, and they didn't budge from what I could tell. I haven't tried the breathable tips yet, but the normal ones do a mighty fine job. It's important to note that they are noise masking, not noise canceling, so they work more like earplugs if you aren't playing anything, but I have a small window unit ~9ft from my bed and couldn't hear it with ASMR playing unless explicitly trying to.The sound quality is average for earbuds, but that almost works in its favor as earbuds for sleep. I wouldn't recommend them for all-day music listening, but I would recommend them for music listening while falling asleep.I haven't messed with the app too much, so I wouldn't take this as definitive, but it isn't half-bad. There was a firmware update for the earbuds, which had no issues installing, and it features the ability to create sleep sounds. There are options to stop the music once you've fallen asleep, switch to sleep mode once you've fallen asleep, calibrate the sleep detection, and customizable tapping actions. All around, a 10/10 product. I took a nap for the first time in over a decade with these. Remember that your ear sizes and shapes, audio preferences, and sleep habits will influence your experience!Pictured: The case next to the top of a soup can; The case between a golf ball and a deck of cards; Top down view of the case with the earbuds in it; An earbud with the wing and tip removed next to the case and in front of a replica Lego brick; The different sizes of tips and wings (the top tip for the pair of large sealed tips is medium; it comes with two larges in this selection and the medium sizes are on the earbuds by default, but i had to swap my left one)

anker needs to explain all the features of these much better

I don't know why I didn't research these souodcore buds sooner, but I mainly got them bc I wanted a quality earbud that felt comfortable when sleeping AND my bf doesn't like hearing my phone if I'm scrolling at night. I had no idea there was an app that was needed for this. It made my QUICK SETUP from the instruction booklet so much more difficult, since the pairing page made no mention of this. The box has a tiny spot on the back to search for souodcore on the app store. After I finally got connected, I found the size that fit me better and off I went. I do like how it takes prompts for sleep mode and volume changes with taps on the left / right buds. These buds fit and feel nice when I'm in bed (mostly a side sleeper). I went with the noise cancelling buds and it did a pretty good job. I had no idea someone in the next room of my house had left until I got a camera notification that there was activity! (This was daytime, I was just using these as earbuds). I feel like Anker needs to flesh out this selling page A LOT more - it is mostly empty aside from a few photos. I had zero clue about the sleep tracking features on the app until I was just looking through the app to see what I could do with it. I thought it was mostly for battery status. To my surprise, it has various ambient sounds we can choose from for Sleep mode. What's great is you can even select up to 3 sounds to make your custom sleep track. (The app lets you save 4 sounds which you can play from your ear pods). Some of the funny ones are cicada (very on trend for summer 2024). Regarding the case design, I don't love it. Its larger than it needs to be (unless that's for the battery), and the push of the dome top is annoying because I find myself pushing against by accident and it should be more stable - it feels like one wrong push would break the top off.

These would sell better if they advertised for Comfort, not Sleep!

These are very comfortable earbuds. The design of the wings and earplugs allow them to rest comfortably on your ear canal (not in it). This is perfect for those like me who have a bad time with in-ear ear buds or IEMS.The sound profile is very much a Vee Signal Response. They are easy to EQ and the EQ built in lets you save it to the A20s. The Sleep Mode is great as well. You can save 4 sound profiles directly to the buds (allowing you to use them without pairing them to your phone). Of those 4 profiles you can also create custom sleep sound profiles which is very neat. They have different instruments, environments, sounds, and ambient areas to simulate white, brown, and pink noise. They are easy to sleep with and i barely notice them. The app is helpful and lets you schedule when you put the buds in and they also track your sleeping habits. This data is NOT imported into Apple's Health platform (which is disappointing), but maybe they will implement that into a future build of the app.The Case is well built and pebble sized. It comes with different sizes of wings and eartips to customize to your unique ear shape and size. Charging is simple and battery life is average for the bud size/shape.There is no built in toggle noise cancellation, but they do come with 3 sets of noise cancelling tips (which are just glorified earplugs, but the get the job done).I would recommend these!
