- One side does not pair with the other side or my device.
- No music plays after connecting with my device.
- Cannot pair or reconnect with my device.

Sound

What audio codecs do Liberty 4 support?

SBC, AAC, and LDAC.

What should I do if Liberty 4's noise cancellation performance does not meet my expectations?

Here are some tips for enhancing the sound quality and noise cancellation:
1) Try other sizes of ear tips to ensure you're using one that fits well and creates a tight seal.
2) Make sure you're wearing the earbuds in the correct position so that they create a tight seal. To check if you're wearing the earbuds in the perfect position, take the Fit Test on the soundcore app.
3) Take the HearID ANC test to personalize the noise cancelling effect.
4) Try different ANC modes to see which one suits your environment best.
Note: In a noisy environment and at high volume, you may feel that the noise cancellation performance is not as strong.

How do I enable LDAC?

1. Download and update your soundcore app to latest version.
2. Change the sound mode to "Preferred Audio Quality" and follow the instructions to update to the latest firmware version. The LDAC codec is now enabled and will work with your LDAC compatible device. Note: The LDAC codec processing will increase the power consumption and decrease the overall playtime. Only devices with Android 8.0 or later support LDAC.
LDAC is restricted by Bluetooth bandwidth and is not supported when using multipoint connection.

What should I do if the left and right earbuds are in different modes? For example one is in Normal mode and the other is in ANC or Transparency mode.

1. Put the earbuds back into the charging case at the same time, then close the charging case for at least 3 seconds and wear them again.

What does the red light on the right earbud mean?

When measuring blood oxygen, the right ear headset will light up red.

Love that the case has lights inside

Very good sound. Comfortable. As a side-sleeper I'm not overly bothered with them in. The stem fits close to my face. Call quality for the person on the other end is quite acceptable. A pleasant surprise was that the case back-lights with the earbuds placed inside. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy that feature. So often I'm watching a movie in a dimly lit room and the soft blue glow is very enjoyable to easily locate the buds. Highly recommend the Liberty 4

Very good, but squeeze controls feel like a downgrade.

Been using the Liberty Air 2 for years, and would probably stick with them if the case charging contacts weren't so finicky. These are equal or superior to the Liberty Air 2 in just about every way: sound quality, comfort, case design. The case is somewhat accommodating to aftermarket ear tips. I'm using SpinFit CP145 Medium, and they don't prevent the buds from sitting properly in the case.

The only thing I don't care for is the switch from touch control to squeeze controls. It's more difficult to do a single/double/triple squeeze (that is interpreted correctly) than it was to do a single/double/triple touch. There is a click noise to indicate when the squeeze is done properly, but it's very difficult to hear when listening to music at a moderate volume.

Also, in previous earbuds you could do a long touch gesture, but there is no long squeeze gesture available for these. I *really* hope Soundcore adds this in a firmware update, because I would like to use single tap for Volume +/-, and long squeeze for previous/next track, and then disable the double and triple squeeze so I don't have to deal with misinterpreted gestures.

A noticeable upgrade from Liberty Air 2 Pro

After rating 5/5 for Liberty Air 2 Pro and having loved those earbuds for years (over Sony, JBL, & others), I took a leap and bought the Liberty 4 without reading much about it. I am pleased to say, there are plenty of reasons to switch and upgrade, although I can't comment on the future plans from Anker/Soundcore on any "pro" version of these earbuds.

Sound: Winner, L4
Beefier bass and sounds a lot more full with L4 vs. LA2P. I'd say LA2P relied more on Treble clarity, where L4 combines that with a much more full sound from bass & mid-tones. I downloaded some hi-res audio from Bandcamp and there's a marked upgrade to sound quality using LDAC on the L4. I'm noticing subtle vocal changes and additions to the music I've been listening to on repeat for months (Magdalena Bay), and it's due to the upgraded sound quality from the L4.

Design: Winner, L4
From the pictures, you can see the L4 earbuds are much smaller vs. LA2P and they are also much lighter. They seem to snap into my ears much more easily, and I have zero concern about them coming loose. I'm excited to try them in my shed with some ear protection on to see if there's better comfort with the smaller size. Lastly, the cases look identical, but the updated L4 is smaller, yet about the same weight.

Functionality: Tie
Both products come with Qi/Wireless charging out of the box and I've no problems with either model. The difference is LA2P has touch controls vs. L4's squeeze (both fingers). I'm going to have to get used to the new controls, but I was able to set up the L4 to mimic how I used LA2P. I've had issues with a double-tap on LA2P resulting in a single tap register, so hopefully the squeeze update on L4 will alleviate that issue.

ANC: Pending Winner
With the better fit and what feels like slight update to their HearID software, it certainly feels like an upgrade in the ANC department for the L4. I'm usually able to at least hear a muffled voice from my fiancée from the LA2P with ANC on, but with L4 it was like being in another house. Will need to test on an upcoming flight before settling on a true winner, but leaning toward L4.

Overall/TL;DR: If you love the Liberty Air 2 Pros and are ready for an upgrade, buy the Liberty 4. They are superior in sound quality, design, and are on-par with ANC and functionality. An excellent earbud to compete with any name-brand competitor for a reasonable price (time of review; $150).
